A Remarkble Weekend With an Apostle of The Lord 

Elder Gary Evan Stevenson of the Quorum of the twelve Apostles

It was such a magnificent as members of the Restored church of Jesus Christ gathered to meet with the servant of the Lord Elder Gary Evan Stevenson of the Quorum of the twelve Apostles. It was over five years since an Apostle of the Lord visited this beautiful land. Stake Presidents, Bishops, Elders Quorum Presidents, Relief Society Presidents all gathered at the stake center in Kololo to receive instructions from the leaders.

  

The brethren were reminded of their calling and what makes the Lord's church different from other churches. Ministering that replaced Home teaching and visiting teaching was the main emphasis of the day. Elder Stevenson said, "Ministering was brought up because of how Africans treat each other as brothers and sisters". He added and said that ministering comes for loving and caring for each other. Elder Chatora an Area Seventy asked the members to love those they minister to and show them that they are true disciples of Jesus Christ, he added and said that Christ was our perfect example that the leaders can learn from.

                   

Brother Izimba Godfrey a High Council man in the Uganda Kampala south stake shared his experience from the Apostles visit. He said that he had a great experience with the Apostle and learnt so many things from him. He says that he learnt how to treat fellow members, how to do ministering and do things as Jesus would have done.

The meeting ended with the Lord's servant meeting with all the missionaries that spiritually waited for this special day. All missionaries tool a chance to shake hands with the Apostle that left big smiles on their faces.

                   

Elder Stevenson told the missionaries that there is still a lot to learn from the African members and that they are blessed to be missionaries in this time. Missionaries shared their experience meeting with the Apostle, Sister Matovu says she was so grateful for the opportunity to meet with the Apostle and that she was able to learn and receive revelation and how it is important to teach this important message to our brothers and sisters. Elder Young, "says it was such an amazing experience to hear the Apostle bear his witness of the Savior Jesus Christ" Apostles around the world move to different parts of the earth teaching the gospel as Jesus directed. Under the direction of the First Presidency, the Quorum of the Twelve are assigned to move around the world teaching the Restored gospel and blesses the disciples of Jesus.
