Gathered In the Right Place at Conference

Kampala South Stake Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints.

 

More than 800 Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Kampala South Stake of gathered over the weekend to participate in the stake’s first conference of the year 2019. The theme for this conference was Ministering with strengthened Melchizedek priesthood quorums and relief societies.  

Elder W. Jean-Pierre Lono of the seventy presided over the conference. Elder Lono a French speaking Area seventy was led by the spirit to speak in English. He opened the conference weekend speaking with retuned missionaries and those that were planning of serving full time mission in 2 hour long training meeting where invited them to pass forward with sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone. 

Every conference, members of the church of Jesus Christ have the opportunity to sustaining general leaders and local leader of the church. For this particular conference the saints in the wittiness the calling or new stake leadership and a Stake Patriarch.

"Charity is the pure love of Christ", Said brother Jones Balyejusa the newly called stake patriarch, He urged members to show love in their homes, love their wives and children. Love is a verb and as such he reminded the saints to express love in both words and actions.

President Fredrick Kamya the stake president opened the Sunday general conference by expressing his love and appreciation to the saints for coming to conference on time. He then extends a vote of thanks for all those that helped in the preparation of this wonder conference and assured them that the Lord will bless their efforts.  His massage to the saints was based on to topic of self-reliance taken from the Africa southeast area plan the year 2019 “ the world take people of the slums but the Lord take the slums out of the people” said President Kamya

Elder W. Jean-Pierre Lono of the seventy closed the meeting by inviting the saints to share the gospel in a simple, Nature and normal way. He added that by doing this member people will be brought unto Christ for the right reasons. Many people will come to know of Jesus Christ and his love for them when members of His church share the gospel in simple, nature and normal ways.
