Easter Mormon Helping Hands Project

Members of the Kajjansi Two Branch clean the Kajjansi Market on Easter Eve

As a way of joining with the rest of the Christian community in celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kitende, Kajjansi and Entebbe gathered on Saturday the 31st of March 2018 to provide service at the Kajjansi Market. Over 70 members of the Church attended this project and provide over 200 hours of service.

Every year thousands of members of the Church (Mormons) participate in community improvement efforts known as 'Mormon Helping Hands' projects. Members of the church around the world join with others in their communities, including members of other faiths, in similar initiatives. Uniting with others is done as a way of showing their willingness to follow the example of Jesus Christ by loving and serving one another.

This project was conducted under a theme “Lifting One Another’s Burden” which will also be the theme used for every project conducted this year by members in the Africa South East area.

The management of the market expressed an infinite gratitude to the saints for thoroughly cleaning the market. They promise to always be ready to join with the saints at any time they choose to carry out such a project again.

President Julius Mpaata the Kajjansi Two Branch President also thanked the members for their willingness to fellow the footsteps of the savior. He added that in such project the saints will be able to make many happy friendships and learn to see others as the Lord sees them.

As letter saints we believe in being “honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men...” Mormon helping hands projects are one of that members of the church show how much they Lord the Lord and His people.
