184th General Conference of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Millions to join with members of the LDS Church this weekend via TV, radio, satellite, and other communication channels for their world-wide General Conference.

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from around the world will join together October 4th and 5th for their Semi-Annual General Conference held in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Millions of others will watch and listen to the proceedings in various locations throughout the world by means of television, radio, internet and satellite communications in more than 190 countries.

These conferences, held twice a year, are for the benefit of the entire membership of the Church.

The leader of the Church, President Thomas S. Monson and his two counselors, as well as other General Authorities, will speak on various religious topics.

One of the members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, Elder Dallin H. Oaks, recently stated in a social media message,  “We only say what the Spirit directs us to say at conference.  I invite you to listen October 4-5.”

Music will be a significant part of the conference.  The world renowned Mormon Tabernacle Choir will play an important role in setting the tone and mood for the conference by providing music that honors the Savior.  Other choirs will also provide musical selections.

Hundreds of translators and interpreters will be involved in these meetings.  They will prepare and present the talks in 94 non-English languages.

Where internet or satellite access is not readily available, DVDs will be sent within a couple of weeks from Church headquarters so members can meet in their respective chapels to watch and listen to the conference.
